My primary research interests include how plant populations and communities change across different spatial scales and time in response to both disturbance and climate change. My previous research involved observing shifts in taxonomic, phylogenetic and functional diversity, composition, and turnover in natural xeric forest opening communities. My current research focuses on the effects of climatic stressors on critical plant communities in Minnesota.
